What does your business do or what services do you provide?
Cantu Nursery & Landscape is a family owned and operated business serving Austin and surrounding cities. We have a fully stocked nursery where we offer customers native perennials, cacti, succulents, native trees and shrubs, as well as palm trees and outdoor décor. Customers have the options of purchasing the plants/trees and planting themselves, or hiring Cantu Nursery to install their new plants. We offer services such as new flower bed creations, dry creeks, sod installation, irrigation, as well as masonry work including outdoor kitchens, patios, retaining walls and fire places.
Can you give some history of your business?
Cantu Nursery & Landscape began in 2008 as Cantu Imports. We focused on the sale of pottery items such as clay pots, chimeneas, and talavera décor. After the neighboring nursery business closed its doors, we opened up the nursery side of the business. The business and our customers spoke to us and we started to incorporate the service side of the business to make the purchasing process easier for our customers. If a tree was too big for a customer to plant, we were there to help.
What motivates you in your business?
Our biggest motivators are our customers. Striving to be better for them is always our number one goal. My wife and I have always loved nature and the beautiful colors of the garden, so when the opportunity arose to help other people create a getaway oasis in their backyards, we quickly jumped on it. We love creating a space in people’s backyards where they can enjoy family time and share experiences from the comfort of their home.
What do you think sets your business apart?
I would say that one thing that sets us apart is the personal treatment we offer our customers. We’re a small company, but we strive to be there every step of the way for our customers. From that initial visit where we go over the vision with our customers, to personalizing their plans to fit their needs, and making the necessary adjustments based on budget and overall expectation. Building a relationship with our customers is essential because we’re able to understand exactly what they’re looking for and it allows us to better serve them. As a team, we try to be accessible, and provide our customers with quality plants and trees along with great customer service.
Why did you choose Siena as your home?
We knew we wanted a home close to our business but we weren’t sure if we wanted a brand new house or an older house. We knew the area was growing so we were excited about that, but also we liked the peacefulness of the surroundings. We are very happy we chose Siena!
