Property Tax Update for Williamson County + Video Conference

Tax Protest Workshop (thumbnail) (1)

You might have received your property valuation from the Williamson County Appraisal District today. While many of our workplaces have been shut down and social distancing guidelines have been instituted due to COVID-19, the property tax process has not slowed down.

Williamson County has begun issuing new property valuations to home owners and has entered the next phase of the property tax calendar. From January through April, WCAD was analyzing home values and making individual adjustments. Now that they have issued the new values, we are entering the “Equalization Phase” where residents can informally and formally protest their valuations and potentially have those values adjusted.

While my Property Tax Protest workshop that was to be held in March was cancelled due to COVID-19, I will still be hosting an event to help educate you and our neighbors on your options for protesting your taxes, updating you on WCAD’s current plans for protest hearings and answer your questions. This event will be held with Texas ProTax, who will explain the process, answer questions and provide informational handouts with FAQs.

Registration for this event is limited to the first 100 neighbors who sign up – please fill out the form below to reserve your spot. The video conference will be held on Wednesday, April 22nd at 3:00 PM. Myself and Texas ProTax will answer your questions and walk you through your options for protesting your property taxes. We hope to see you there!

Looks like we missed the Property protest by 10 days– new home owners and we’re green to all this. Any chance we can get an exception to still protest or are we SOL?

    1. Unfortunately not usually. They are pretty stringent on the dates. Sorry!
