Siena New Elementary School Update

I was able to learn new information about the new school to be built in Siena and wanted to update the current and future residents of Siena with this information. Eduardo Ramos, the interim superintendent for Hutto ISD was kind enough to share with me.

Four additional classrooms are currently under construction at Veteran’s Hill Elementary (VHE) and should be completed by September 2017. This will bring the campus capacity to 800 students which will meet the school’s needs for 2017-18. At current growth rates, VHE will be over capacity in 2018-19 and beyond, thus the need for a new elementary school.

The school is already in the planning and design phase and the board voted at the school board meeting in May to create a panel to recommend names for what is currently called “Elementary #7” in Hutto ISD. The school will have a capacity of 850 students and will start construction in the Spring of 2018, to be open in August 2019 for the 2019-20 school year. The school will be built on land currently owned by Hutto ISD to the east of Siena and Green Haven to the south. The land also has space for a future Middle School #3
