Notice of Public Meeting – Limmer Loop Wastewater Treatment Plant

As I am sure most of our community is already aware, 705 Limmerloop JV LLC has applied for a permit to discharge treated domestic wastewater in connection with a proposed treatment facility they wish to build next to the Siena community. There has been considerable discussion with the parties involved, including but not limited to your Siena HOA, the City of Hutto, Williamson County, and others.

Recognizing the importance of public input, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has scheduled a public meeting on April 9, 2024, at Hutto High School Gymnasium. This meeting will provide an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions and submit formal comments on the permit application. The meeting consists of both an Informal Discussion Period and a Formal Comment Period.

Informal Discussion Period: Participants are encouraged to ask questions directly to the applicant and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regarding the permit applications and will be responded to orally by the regulatory authorities. The informal discussion is intended to provide an opportunity for open dialogue and clarification, not to gather formal comments for the permit decision.

Formal Comment Period: The public can share their comments verbally for the official record. The Executive Director will then prepare written responses to all important comments. These comments will be carefully reviewed before a decision is made on the permit application. All relevant and timely comments will receive a written response from the Executive Director. Only relevant comments will be considered if a contested case hearing is granted.

The deadline for submitting written comments is anytime during the meeting or by mail before the close of the public comment period to the Office of the Chief Clerk, TCEQ, Mail Code MC-105, P.O. Box 13087, Austin, TX 78711-3087 or electronically at http://www.tceq.texas.gov/goto/comment. Remember, only relevant and material comments raised during the formal period will be considered in a potential contested case hearing.

Don’t miss this opportunity to have your say! Join the meeting and prepare relevant concerns and questions for the discussion on the permit application’s potential impacts and implications for the environment and community.
