Solar Eclipse Viewing for Siena Residents

Solar Eclipse - Siena Today

On August 21st, the United States will experience a solar eclipse. In Siena, Round Rock and Williamson County, we will only be able to see a partial eclipse in which the sun is partially blocked by the moon. There is actually only one major city that will experience the complete solar eclipse – Nashville, TN.

The Round Rock Library partnered together with the Space Science Institute and the Williamson County Astronomy Club to hold a Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at the Prete Main Street Plaza from noon to 2 pm. This will be a FREE event for the public and they will be 500 pairs of certified safe solar viewing glasses available for attendees beginning at noon.

You will be able to see the effects of the eclipse from about 11:45 am to 2:45 pm. Round Rock will experience 65% coverage of the sun at the peak of the eclipse, at approximately 1:10 pm.
