The holiday season is officially upon all of us here in Siena Round Rock and life is starting to get REALLY busy for everyone! Here are a few events going on around Siena that you might want to check out!

Veterans Day 2018

T.H.E. Veterans Day 5K at Fritz Park

The third annual 5K benefiting Toys for Tots. T.H.E. is partnering with the City of Hutto Parks and Recreation Department to help collect toys and raise funds for scholarships for qualified high school graduates. The event starts at 7:30 AM on Saturday, November 10th. Make sure to register early!

Georgetown’s Annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony

At 11 a.m. on Saturday, veterans will be honored at the Georgetown-Williamson County Veterans Memorial Plaza. The East View High School band, orchestra and choir will play music and the guest speaker will be Brigadier General Kenneth L. Kamper.

Close Assault 1944

Close-Assault-november-2018-banner-300x200Remember the true meaning of Veteran’s Day with this stirring look back at World War II. Close Assault 1944 honors the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans by focusing on the history of the 36th Infantry Division of the Texas Army National Guard during World War II. The free program, now in its eighth year, features members of the Texas Military Forces Living History Detachment exhibiting the uniform and equipment worn by the American GI in the European Theater of the Second World War, as well as those of his German opponent. The event will provide guests the opportunity to witness firing demonstrations of the most famous U.S. and German small arms of World War II, see everything from tents and radio equipment to GI baseball gloves and mess kits and operational vehicles such as an M4 Sherman Tank, M3 Halftrack and Jeeps! The event will be held November 10-11 at the Texas Military Forces Museum (2200 W 35th St building 6, Austin, TX 78703)

Pfall Festival

Pflugerville’s Pfall Festival is the best place in town to start holiday shopping or find those one-of-a-kind items for a friend, or you can treat yourself. There will be-many beautiful handcrafted items, baked goods, jewelry, and glassware are just a few of the unique gift items to choose from! Shop right through lunch as proceeds from onsite food sales benefit the Senior Activity programs! The event is November 17 at the Pflugerville Parks and Recreation Department and Recreation Center (400 Immanuel Rd, Pflugerville, TX 78660).

Round Rock Turkey Trot

The city of Round Rock is excited to announce their 2nd Annual Fleet Feet Round Rock Turkey Trot! Challenge your family, friends, and co-workers to come out and run on the roads and trails through the scenic and historic Old Settlers Park. The race will feature an untimed 5-mile and 2-mile run/walk. There will be sponsor booths, refreshments, and finishers medals! Strollers and leashed pets are welcome, but bikes or scooters are not allowed on the race course. Proceeds will go to The Round Rock Serving Center, Operation Blue Santa, and the Backpack Coalition. They will also be collecting non-perishable items for the Round Rock Serving Center and new toys for Operation Blue Santa. The event will be held Thanksgiving morning, November 22, at Dell Diamond (3400 E Palm Valley Blvd,, Round Rock, TX 78665).

Chuy’s Christmas Parade

CaptureThe Chuy’s Christmas Parade benefits Operation Blue Santa; so make sure to bring new, unwrapped toys to donate! There will be giant inflatable balloons, festive holiday floats, famous children’s characters, spectacular marching bands, cool classic cars, and of course Santa! The collection of toys will be at a designated time during the Parade procession, and all units will stop to collect the toys. Santa’s Helpers will line the Parade route and help spectators give their toy. The Operation Blue Santa Program will distribute all toys to another child just in time for the holidays. The parade is on November 24 at the Texas State Capitol (1100 Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78701).

November 23rd is Black Friday – crazy shopping and crazy deals for the especially ambitious!
