Labor Day is a federal holiday commemorating the American labor movement. The holiday was first celebrated in the US in 1882, but was then declared an official federal holiday in 1938. It is celebrated with parades, picnics, family reunions and sports games on the first Monday of September, which has traditionally been Labor Day.
Labor Day is one of the biggest days in the calendar for Austin residents and visitors alike. To help celebrate, we’ve put together a list of events to enjoy this Labor Day weekend.
