Hutto Fire Rescue is planning to build Station #3 next to the new Kerley Elementary School on land provided to it by the Hutto ISD. This project should be approved at the board’s next meeting.
According to Fire Chief Kerwood, Fire Station #3 will use the same building plans as Stations #1 & #2 and will include a few tweaks and adjustments for this location. Planning should officially start for Station #3 after Station #2 is completed around September. Construction for the new station should take approximately 9 months can be delayed by weather.
Like the other stations, Station #3 will be built with space for Williamson County EMS to manage an ambulance from one of the bays but ultimately WILCO will have to decide to fill and staff that service.
Here are some pictures of the plans and layouts for Station #2 and should be a fair representation of what to expect from Station #3.
Currently, the only access road for the new fire station will come through Siena or Hay Barn lane, but there are discussions about about connecting the station to US 79 through the Green Pasture subdivision or one of the business parks nextdoor.
